This commission for the Pompidou Centre involved the photography of the stained glass windows by Marc Chagall in Tudeley Church and Chichester Cathedral, as well as their immediate interior and architectural context. The Pompidou Centre issued exacting specifications for the exposure and colour of the images of the stained glass, to ensure uniformity throughout the major exhibition, Chagall, The Emissary of Light Exhibition, included numerous windows across Europe.

This ongoing project to photograph exhibitions was instructed by the V and A, as a method of recording and celebrating their highly sophisticated and meticulously detailed and crafted exhibitions. Before the shoot I was very fortunate to be informed of the sheer level engagement that goes into each production, from the design of custom typefaces, display mounts and cabinets to the creation of custom paints.
