The blog of Simon Kennedy, Architectural Photographer based in London.
Completed by London-based Avanti Architects, this scheme creates a monumental new entrance for a new wing containing 72 beds. The interior forms a playful and brightly coloured environment intended to feel welcoming for patients, their families and hospital staff, designed with input from artist Morag Myerscough. The design ties disparate functions together with a legible circulation system and has won numerous awards.
