Architectural Photography of Archive Homestore, Ramsgate, by Haptic Architects, London

The blog of Simon Kennedy, Architectural Photographer based in London.

A new store in Ramsgate, located in a two-story harbourside arch. The new architecture is deliberately contemporary, contrasting to its historic setting, with beautifully controlled geometry, materials and textures. The architecture features pitched roof interior volumes that reference Scandi style and the seaside location, and birch plywood is used extensively, installed by a single craftsman. The lower floor forms the shop, the upper level is a flexible space that can hold a café, exhibitions or events.
