Architectural photography of “A Bench for Everyone”.

The blog of Simon Kennedy, Architectural Photographer based in London.

This is the competition-winning scheme by London-based architects McCloy and Muchemwa to design a temporary bench installation at One New Change in the City of London. The bench takes on a folded form, providing places that work for a variety of situations such as meetings with various numbers of people, waiting for a loved one or simply taking a rest. The folds are intended to remind the user of the comforts of home furniture, and its undulating form and bright colours provide an “architectural sugar rush”. The project was published widely, including in Architect’s Journal, Architectural Review, Wallpaper, and Dezeen.
