The blog of Simon Kennedy, Architectural Photographer based in London. My website is www.simonkennedy.net
These photographs were from an intensive four-day shoot at the New BBC Broadcasting House building, Portland Place.
I worked on this building for more than a year when I was an architect, so it was fascinating to have the opportunity to go around it and to photograph it.
The original and competition-winning design was by MJP Architects (formerly MacCormac Jamieson Prichard), who delivered phase 1 of the project – Egton House and the extensive refurbishment of Old Broadcasting House. This was an extremely difficult design due to the sensitive planning constraints and an extremely high-profile site.
The second phase of the project was delivered by Sheppard Robson Architects, my employers for the shoot.
These photographs have appeared extensively within the Architectural Press, in the Guardian newspaper, and are in the current edition of Architecture Today.
Shot with Toyo VX-125b, lenses Schneider 72mm f5.6 Super-Angulon XL, Schneider 58mm f5.6 Super-Angulon XL, Rodenstock 135mm Apo-Sironar-S f5.6, Rodenstock 210mm Apo-Sironar-S f5.6, Fuji pro 160s.
